Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
