Tributes Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the duo.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt prepared to express about his deep grief.

"Adequate time has elapsed that I can now express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, adding that he cannot recall "any day without mirth".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge decided to bar the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A court order issued a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a record noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Response and Criticism

In the wake of the deaths, public figures shared divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering provocative statements that were broadly criticized by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the critics recently. Speaking on his show, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and suggested they demonstrated a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by suggesting that an aide could have stepped in when the impulse to speak on the tragedy was made.
