Suspected Stalker Inquired: 'However Imagine I Am Madeleine?'
A woman indicted with pursuing Kate McCann reportedly deposited her a recorded message which posed: "what if I am Madeleine?"
Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has persistently declared she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are standing trial charged with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February 2025.
On Monday, the court learned phone records and evidence retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout the past two years.
Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is one of the most covered investigations and continues to be open.
'I Do Not Need Money'
A separate voicemail, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I believe."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "What if there is a small chance that I'm her? What happens next? Is that not significant for you?"
"I don't want money, I possess a life here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.
The jury was told that via emails, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.
The investigator, a data specialist with law enforcement who collated the information, informed the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt additionally reached out to family friends of the McCanns, based on the call data.
On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."
