Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet carrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet touched down based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.
This event does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was compelled to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
