Former Arsenal player Jack Wilshere has become the leading candidate to take the coaching position for Luton Town.
Wilshere, aged 33 has conducted talks with the club and is leading the race to succeed Matt Bloomfield, who got dismissed in the past few days.
The Orient boss Richie Wellens got as part of the last pair, yet Jack is close to getting the role. The contract has not been completed.
His last role was as interim coach for Norwich City at the end of the prior term, where he took over for the final two games following the previous manager's removal.
Wilshere was then overlooked for the permanent job, with the Canaries bringing in their current manager, and he had also linked to Plymouth Argyle prior to Tom Cleverley was named.
The Hatters, which have endured successive demotions, have had a difficult beginning in the 2025-26 term registering five losses from the initial fixtures, placing them eleventh in League One.
Wilshere was under-18 coach for Arsenal ahead of his stint at Norwich City and had been a candidate for the club's U21 position earlier this year prior to pulling out.
The ex-player gained 34 England call-ups with the national team and featured in 197 games with the Gunners, ahead of periods with the Hammers and the Cherries.
