The disputed, US and Israel-backed Gaza relief foundation says it is terminating its aid operations in the Gaza region, subsequent to approximately 180 days.

The foundation had earlier paused its multiple aid distribution centers in Gaza subsequent to the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel came into force in recent weeks.

The organization attempted to bypass the UN as the main supplier of humanitarian assistance to Gazans.

International relief agencies refused to co-operate with its methodology, saying it was unethical and unsafe.

Numerous Gazans were fatally wounded while seeking food amid chaotic scenes near GHF's sites, mainly through Israeli military action, according to the UN.

Israel said its troops fired alerting fire.

Program Termination

The foundation announced on the beginning of the week that it was terminating work now because of the "successful completion of its emergency mission", with a total of three million packages containing the equivalent of more than 187 million meals delivered to Palestinians.

The GHF's executive director, Jon Acree, further mentioned the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Centre (CMCC) - which has been established to help carry out the American administration's Gaza initiative - would be "implementing and enlarging the approach the organization demonstrated".

"GHF's model, in which militant groups were prevented from misappropriating relief supplies, was significantly influential in convincing militant groups to participate and securing a halt in hostilities."

Feedback and Statements

The Palestinian faction - which refutes aid diversion claims - supported the shutdown of the aid organization, as indicated by media.

A representative of declared the organization should be held accountable for the harm it caused to local residents.

"We call upon all international human rights organisations to ensure that it does not escape accountability after resulting in fatalities and harm of many residents and concealing the food deprivation strategy practised by the Israel's administration."

Organization Timeline

The organization commenced activities in Gaza on 26 May, a short period subsequent to Israel had partially eased a comprehensive closure on relief and commercial goods to Gaza that lasted 11 weeks and led to substantial deficiencies of necessary provisions.

After 90 days, a food crisis was announced in the Gaza metropolitan area.

The organization's sustenance provision locations in southern and central Gaza were managed by American private security firms and located inside regions under Israeli military authority.

Relief Agency Issues

United Nations agencies and their collaborators said the system violated the core assistance standards of objectivity, fairness and autonomy, and that guiding distressed residents into armed forces regions was intrinsically hazardous.

International human rights monitoring body reported it tracked the deaths of a minimum of 859 residents trying to acquire sustenance in the vicinity of GHF sites between spring and summer months.

A further 514 persons were fatally wounded around the courses followed by international humanitarian deliveries, it also mentioned.

The majority of these individuals were killed by the Israel's armed forces, according to the office.

Conflicting Accounts

The Israeli military said its soldiers had fired warning shots at people who approached them in a "threatening" fashion.

The organization declared there were no firearm incidents at the distribution centers and claimed the international organization of using "untrue and confusing" statistics from the Gazan medical department controlled by militant factions.

Subsequent Developments

The organization's continuation had been unclear since militant groups and the Israeli government approved a truce agreement to implement the initial stage of the American administration's peace initiative.

The arrangement specified humanitarian assistance would take place "free from intervention from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the international relief society, in conjunction with other worldwide bodies not connected in any way" with Palestinian factions and Israeli authorities.

United Nations representative the international body's communicator said on Monday that the GHF's shutdown would have "no impact" on its activities "because we never worked with them".

The official further mentioned that while more aid was getting into Gaza since the truce was implemented on 10 October, it was "inadequate to meet all the needs" of the over two million inhabitants.
