Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

An official for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an investigation into reports of questionable actions towards women.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books combined, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
