Chief Executive Approves Dispatching State Militia into Windy City, while Court Blocks Portland Troop Movement.

Over the weekend, federal officials stated that Donald Trump has moved to deploy the militia forces to Chicago, even as a US district judge halted his team from sending troops to Portland, Oregon.

Executive Branch Reveals Illinois City Troop Dispatch

A press secretary for the White House revealed that the president had approved using the state of Illinois national guard members, pointing to what she labeled “persistent disturbances and lawlessness” that local leaders have not quelled.

In Oregon, court official the presiding judge concurred with the argument from Oregon that the President deploying federalized militia members to the city would potentially worsen rather than settle protests.

“Today’s ruling validates what residents of Oregon already know: justice has been served, and facts won out,” the state's chief executive commented after the restraining order was issued. “No rebellion exists in the city. No threat to national security. No fires, no bombs, no deaths due to civil unrest.”

Illinois Governor Labels Action Unwarranted

The state's chief executive, the governor labeled the move unneeded and “a manufactured performance – not a real attempt to protect public safety.”

Federal Court Blocks Portland Troop Deployment

The President has encountered resistance to his plan of sending troops to cities under Democratic leadership he describes as disorderly, after a judicial officer prevented his administration’s attempt to send the state militia to Portland.

The President had announced on 27 September that he would dispatch personnel to Portland, “authorizing Maximum Strength, if needed”, disregarding appeals from municipal leaders and the state’s congressional delegation. A group of multiple municipal chiefs in the area had objected to the deployment.
