The e-cigarette figures are a projection since several nations - 109 in total, and many in African and Southeast Asia - fail to collect data.

According to the analysis, as of this past February this year, at least 86 million e-cigarette individuals were mature individuals, mostly in wealthy states.

And at minimum 15 million adolescents between the ages of 13 and 15 currently engage in vaping, according to research from 123 countries.

While many states have attempted to introduce e-cigarette rules to address child vaping in the past few years, by the close of 2024, 62 nations yet had no regulation in place, and 74 countries had no age limit at which e-cigarettes are allowed to be acquired, reports the medical authority.

Meanwhile, tobacco use has been declining - from an approximated 1.38 billion consumers in 2000 to 1.2 billion in 2024.

Frequency of tobacco usage among women decreased the most - from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024.

Among males, the drop was from 41.4% in 2010 to 32.5% in 2024.

But a fifth of grown-ups worldwide yet consumes tobacco.

Tobacco use is linked to many illnesses, such as cancer.

Specialists say vaping is far less harmful than tobacco products, and can aid you stop smoking. It is discouraged for non-smokers.
